Schools/Daycare/Kindy/After School Care Programs/Tours

Children learn best when they can ‘see, smell, hear & touch’ what they are being taught. So why not take the day off and let us do the teaching!

Trevena Glen provides a tailored farm experience for everyone that is “hands on”, enjoyable and educational. Our program will assist teachers as they complete the “Life and Living unit” in the current school curriculum, as well as tailoring specific program requirements of teachers (Making butter and flour from grain)

Our current school package is as follows; exclusive (subject to conditions) use of the farm and access to a large fenced outdoor area which is semi shaded for morning tea & lunch. The program duration is dependent on the total number of children attending but is usually 3-4 hours with time allowed for morning tea & lunch. Each excursion group will rotate through the experiences in sub-groups of a maximum 20 people every 30-45mins. The following is a typical guide of what you’ll experience as each rotation and the animals therein are seasonal and subject to change.

  • Large horse riding in the arena, with the opportunity for mini horse grooming for those waiting to ride.
  • Small horse riding from round yard by site office and down a farm track a short distance. Photo booth opportunity with farm props and dress ups nearby for those waiting to ride.
  • Small animals - baby animals will be featured this year, such as kid goats, foals, piglets, lambs (seasonal) and sometimes baby silkie chicks, as well as our other small animals.(guinea pigs, turkeys and hens)
  • Feeding large animals and a tractor/wagon ride.

We are able to provide a comprehensive risk assessment and other support documentation to make it as easy as possible for teachers and organisers.
